bearslayer
Has anyone used the Carrot Stick Wild rods and if so, how do you like it? Some reviews I have found have mentioned that the Medium weight actually fishes more like a medium heavy. Anyone else encounter this? Thanks in advance. Larson15
I saw 2 of them break at the big C store by people testing the tip.
slopmaster
Not sure about the wild series, but i went through 2 LTX models last year. The guides were junk (grooved from the line) on both of them and i had one of them break 1/3 up from the tip. I ended up paying 40$ for the first replacement (waste of money) which ended up taking a month and a half to get to my house (thats almost 1/3 of the season which sucked) and then within a month of fishing it broke. After it broke i looked at the guide inserts and 3 of them were starting to have line grooves after a month of fishing with co-polymer. At this point i was pretty angry for lack of a better term and ended up sending them a not so plesent letter and email until i got a hold of someone higher up than regular customer service and ended up getting a replacement LTX and a Micro guide one free of charge. So regardless of which series you get, when it breaks or you have troubles expect slow customer service and if you want to talk to someone helpful make sure you contact Michael McDevitt since he was the ONLY helpful one. I gave my LTX to my girlfriend cause she thinks its pretty and i'll use the micro until it breaks and than im done with the company. So my advice to you is spend your money on a different rod, there are lot of good rods in that price range that would be much more reliable and have better customer service. Sorry for the rant, but i'd hate to see someone else go through the hassel that i went through last summer.
blakjack23
I agree with slop. Carrot Stix has been known for their bad customer service and bad guides on their 1st gen rods. Check out the Veritas and Verdicts from Abu.
mww24
I've never owned one, But have heard the horror stories as well. I know the elite series pro they had sponsoring them when they first came out never signed again after his contract because of the bad rep. ( So I've heard).
