Attic Flooring ?

Just installed an attic ladder in my garage. Now I am going to lay a floor down. My question is What thickness of OSB to go with so I don't have to worry about only stepping on the rafters. My rafters are 24 inches on center.

I personally would go with 3/4" just to have that extra sturdiness depending what you will have up there or be moving around and how heavy that item will be.

I used 5/8 in my garage and it is very solid. Cant go wrong with either 5/8 or 3/4.

This matters in that if its a regular truss your not going to put much weight up there or spend much time up there.

You can use 1/2 osb and H clips if your have a regular truss.

If this was an attic or room truss then you'd use 3/4 osb t&g.
