Whats your favorite panfish line for open water and why?

I'm trying to decide what I should use on my ultralight and light action panfish rods. Just curious what everyone's favorites are and why.

I went top cajun red in 4lb test a couple years ago and am sold on it for some reason it seems to be stronger than others and the line memory hasnt been a factor at all.

I did however buy a spool of P-line and think I will try this out as well but I'm sure I will go back to CR

Ive caught 4 eyes over ten lbs to a 8 pound pike and have even iced qutie a few cats with CR and scores of pannies

I like gold stren in 2 and 4# because I can see it much better than other lines, I am a line watcher

I also keep a rod rigged with green fireline for pulling fish out of heavy grass or reeds.

I won't comment on brand,( since i'm still using solar XT that i have stored!! ) but line size will depend on where/how you fish. In open water i use 2# mono.If around rocks etc, i'll step up to 4#, but do keep one spool loaded with 1-8 PP for in weeds or araound brush.

I typically use 4lb mono for panfish, PP 10/2 if I'm in thick stuff.

i use 4# test for panfish and walleys in clear water also. good luck.

Usually 4# mono or Fireline.

i'm a fan of good mono for just about everything. Really the only exception is when I want to go over 10lb test.

I like trilene maxx, 4lb.

But if you really want to know my go to panfish line it's 6 or 7x tippet.
