broken line
Just finally got a dehydrator to play around with. I've done jerky, some "fruit leathers". bananas, apples and am enjoying it. Any other ideas for things a beginner could/should try to make with a dehydrator??
hockeybc69
If you like flavored sunflower seeds you will love this.Go to the dry marinade section of cub and take your pick of the McCormick Grill Mates seasonings.Use 2 teaspoons of soy sauce and put in a tupperware bowlUse 2 teaspoons of the McCormick seasoning of your choicetake one cup of Giant brand sunflower seedsPut the lid on the tupperware and shake for a minute or twoDump out on the dehydrator and dry for an hour at 160 degreesYou might have to play with the seasoning amounts to get your own level of flavor desired, but its a starting point
BobT
I like to dry apples. Here's what I do and they don't last long around here.We have one of those apple cutters that spiral cut, peel, and core all at once so it is a simple project. Once we run them through I make a cut so I can separate the spirals into rings. Shake the apple rings in a bag with cinnamon and sugar then dehydrate. Makes a great treat.
