Bowfishing Duluth

I would like to try bowfishing in Duluth. Can anyone give me advice as to where and when I want to be doing it.

And would these fat "suckers" be any good for fertilizer or too full of toxins? Wonder what people do with the carp.

I know a few guys plant them under there tomato plants some around there trees were just make compost out of them

Season start May 1, actually. I imagine with the water flow, you could definitely find some fish on opener up there, even if it's a tad chilly. Shot the biggest carp of my life in early May a couple years ago and it was barely 50 degrees out. Found him and a bunch of others keeping close to the cattails, as there really wasn't any other cover available. I think there's even a bowfishing tournament every year on the St. Louis, so there certainly must be fish in there to shoot!

Anyone else bowfished duluth? I just got into bowhunting and turkey hunting, now I don't want it to stop so I wanted to try bowfishing. Thing is I just moved to duluth. Anyone bowfished around there? Any good or better off just making the drive further south?
