pureinsanity
The angle grinder can cost I suspect from $75 on up and you can get the blades for around $5, maybe a bit more. You probably can get away with just one but if you get two you may avoid another trip to the store. I bought a circle cutting bit when I did my tile job and it was great for the pipes leading to the sink. As far as the radiator - can you take it out and do the floor? That very likely will make for a better floor job. But then you've got all the plumbing issues and jacking around draining the system etc. Home repairs/projects never get simpler than you planned. I will pick up a blade tonight! I have access to an angle grinder I do not want to take the radiator out, Do not want to drain the system. I am just prying up with a 2x4. Might resort to PL400 as a adhesive solution for under the radiator.
daylate
Pure, you can use rapid set for fast installation. walk on it in a couple of hours. mix a little at a time(enough for 8-10 tiles).
FishLocker
"Thats a good idea. How much does one of those usually run? and how long will it last? I have to make some cuts around the radiator pipes and I would love being able to get a nice circle cut instead of using a nippers. and yes im still married, well im not married but we're still dating." pureinsanity
How much mortar is ok to have between the tile before grouting? I have started to clean it up a bit and just making sure I get enough out and how much needs to be out.
iffwalleyes
You don't want much I think I remember correct they I was told 1/2 the depth of the tile. Now I took mine out as much as I could so that I could get as much grout in as possible.

catty11
Hello, Scratch the tile at the point you want to drill the hole a very small cross in the tile. Use a very fine (narrow diameter ) drill. Just tap it with the drill as slow as you can set it and ease it into the hole slowly. Then once you have the hole you can use a wider drill. Just go one size up until you have the hole you wantThanks___________

pureinsanity
Thanks, I thought I did pretty good for a rookie first timer. I have put in many many pallets of pavers in my young life. I figured tile was pretty much the same thing except you cant adjust things with a hammer like you could pavers There is a few mistakes here and there, and a couple that are off. Not because of me but because of the tiles being different sizes by 16th and 8th of an inch (depending tile). But now that the grout is in it you can hardly notice. Obviously a tile pro would probably pick out every flaw BUT for the people that are visiting wouldn't ever notice. I think Will I do tile again? probably or if she makes me. it is a time consuming take your time kind of project. there is NO rushing tile. When you do that is when the oopsies happen. I would rather put in a paver patio or a retaining wall than do tile again So down the road if a pro wants to trade services I might be interested! pureinsanity
The pictures don't really do the job justice. the lighting is weird from my phone. down the road ill put up good pictures.
Stratosman
Looks good... tiles that are irregular in size by up to 1/8th make for a nightmare install. Makes it REAL hard to maintain uniform joint spacing! Looks good for your first time.
