How many of you make your own lures, rods, and/or terminal tackle?

In the off seasons I use a wire former to make in-line spinners. I tie flies. I carve top-water plugs.

Anybody else into these hobbies/addictions?

I'd like to get into rod building, budget permitting, next year.

Anyway, if there are enough people here who are into this, maybe a forum would be nice. A place to share ideas, sources for materials, photos of lures and the fish they have caught, etc...

I have just started to think about making my own. Have collected some good ideas over my 27 years on this great place (we call earth).

Figured I would put some of it to work for myself.

I'd be interested in a forum for this too. I pour my own lead jigs and would be interested in making some other tackle as well. What I would really like to figure out is how to make my own ice fishing tackle, specifically panfish jigs (the very small ones). Anyone have any thoughts on this? I have been unable to find any company that makes molds for these small jig types. I assume it would be possible to make them if you had the right type of mold but I might be wrong. fell free to e-mail me if you have any ideas ben_ray(at)yahoo.com

Count me in. I bought the wire deal years ago and first used it to make Mepps-type spinnerbaits. My first supply of parts came from a place that now goes by Jann's Netcraft. You can also load up on out-of-season parts at most places that sell fishing gear.
