Gulp Alive Minnow Heads

Recommended Posts

Very impressed with these. Outperformed all my other plastics this weekend on Crappies, Bluegills and Perch. Easily placed on jigging spoon/jig and lasted a long time.

Downfalls -- juice/bait ratio is way to high, jar seems empty. Need to be able to purchase larger sizes

4 Stars after one weekend

Yep, I love the stuff. The fish fry work better for me on sunfish, I like the black/white minnow heads the best. Have some of the red minnow heads and don't like them as much. This is all I use, basically, Gulp Alive minnow heads (black/white), fish fry (white), or maggots (chartreuse).

The minnow head has worked for me great this year. I am getting pretty partial to the smelt flavor. The two issues for me is the container leaks and the juice/bait ratio like mentioned above.

I have found using an old medication bottle solves the leaking problem. The caps on these things do not leak. No leaks since transfering GULP into the bottles.

I recently used some Gulp Alive 1" minnow fry and did as well as live bait on the Crappies. But, I also had some Gulp "Crappie Nibbles" -- small pink chunks like a small version of power bait -- that were about 6 years old packed in my Legends bag and forgotten; these worked just as well as the minnow fry. I wonder if when the bite is hot, if you couldn't stick a piece of bubble gum on the hook and do just as well.
