June in grand marais you can catch 100 or more smallies on any given lake without even trying. My best is about 350 smallies between me and my wife (yes, my wife) out of greenwood lake. That's including me having to take the time to take the fish off her lures mad and spending several hours trolling for lake trout. It literally is a fish on every cast! I'm not gonna lie though, the size isn't the greatest...they all seem to run between 7 to 10 inches with the occasional over 12.

My best day for largemouth bass is around 50 or 60 out of both gull and whitefish lakes.

Opening day last year my dad and I were on the water at 5am. We left the first lake with 102 largies at 10am. We only counted the ones that were 12 inches or bigger and had 4 over 4lbs. Lots of fun. Another day a few years ago we got to 122 in a 10 hour day in June. The average size that day was about 3lbs. Both great days.

I have done 100 with 2 people a few times on the missouri river in south dakota for smallies. I remember my dad and I hitting the river one day and fished 4-5 hours and had 154 smallies. Best largemouth day was 110 between two of us on Lake Comedero in Mexico.

I've done it multiple times already with a partner and by myself. You didn't mentioned that it couldn't be white bass. Go to Wisconsin or devils lake and you'll catch bass all day long until you give up because your hand is sore from reeling. There is so many that it gets boring and there's no fishing for the heck of of anymore. Go with a group and maybe 1000 is possible.

Broke 200 in a day on largies with 2 other guys.

Broke 100 in a day on largies 5 times with one other guy on 3 occasions and 2 guys on the other occasions.

Broke 100 smallies on "a river" one time with one other guy.

All documented in my journal that I started in 1993. I carry a clicker/counter on my belt and record every fish caught. So the caveat would be that I count a 10" bass for example.

Yeah it is very do-able. With a couple of anglers here in the Brainerd area it is pretty easy to catch 50 fish in a few hours. We've had our 100 fish days. Sometimes you can fish docks and catch 10-12 fish from one dock. So if you put in a full day you could catch well over 100 fish.

I'd like to chip in to the "definitely possible" crowd...I've had days up in Quetico where I can say with certainly that 100 bass weren't a problem. The farther south you go, the more difficult it gets, but with two guys, I'm pretty certain you could pull it off, especially if you're fishing the BWCA or a lake that doesn't get much or any fishing pressure. Minnesota is a great state for catching bass, and I'd put it up there for number with anywhere else. Just my .02.
