Fast swimming top water with lots of noise

I have been fishing the St. Croix every summer from Grantsburg to the dam. We canoe for 3 days and camp at night. First year, I was advised to use Stanley Ribbit Frogs which I bought 5 bags and wished I would have bought more. Last year, I brought Stanley Ribbit Frogs, Rage Tail Toads (My favorite top water!!!), plastic swim bait shad, and lip-less rapalla. All worked great, but with all plastics, they went bad quickly after a few catches.

This year, I want to try buzz baits, but I'd like a smaller faster buzzbait that creates a lot of noise. Wondering if anyone can direct me to something that as such.

I don't have a recommendation for a buzzbait, but I would suggest that you look into the Ragetail Shad. That bait makes a lot of commotion for being a soft plastic, especially if reeled in fast.

You should be able to find the smaller ones, with a little looking. Many well stoked shops should have them along with the big stores. I think i've even seen them at wally world.

Yeah, the Ribbits do kinda suck on the durability front don't they? Thought it was just me.

What about Spro Jr.'s/generic equivalent? You can work them as fast or slow as you want to. They hang together pretty well unless frickin' NP get a hold of them.

I personally use Booyahs. Single or double buzz. Although they do make a smaller in-line buzz that is really hard to get ahold of unless you go online. They make a higher pitch chatter and can be worked many ways. I use buzzes alot and the booyahs seem to hold up nice...

I guess i'm guilty of being CHEAP! I do have a few of the name brands, but many times i do buy the cheap ones.( yes they may wear out faster) I've also been guilty of tieing them onto a vehicle to break the blades down faster to get more squeek out of them.

i like the strike king jr triple buzzer - its pretty cheap, like 3 bucks, and the triple blades mean you can real it slow. caught some pig smallies on that lure. there's even one with a clacker if you want

I am looking for a smaller and fast buzzbait because we are crusing the river the entire time. Its rare to cast to the same spot twice. its cast after cast and I want a buzz bait taht will keep up. I have used the cheap walmart ones to booyahs and strike kings and they seem okay, but was just wondering if they come faster.

Try a small double buzz bait. You can run them quicker and they will not roll because they have twin blades.. accent makes a nice one.
