How long does it take fish to recover from a front?

It more or less depends on what is behind it and how fast the front is moving.
I would say on average about 1.5 to 3 days. Thats of just pressure systems that are close to the same. On some fishing trips fishing has been bad b/c of weather until the day you have to leave. So it all depends on mother nature mainly.

Yeti, don't worry, the front will pass before you go up to Big Sandy! And don't you dare pass up a trip into Aitken lake, "Elson omm gone have ta whoop ya!" If I don't talk to you before then, have a safe trip and catch some fish!

Weather front moved in yesterday. Temps dropped big time. In general terms, fronts will give walleyes lockjaw. How long does everyone think it takes for walleyes to start biting again after a front moves in?

The barometer is rising on Friday morning so I would suspect that there would be some amount of activity this afternoon/evenings in the shallows, according to weather-related fishing books I've read.

In the spring, fish will be dormant for 6-8 hours after a falling barometer then return to the shallows. A steady barometer has little affect on the behavior. A steadily rising pressure will push fish deeper.

Of course, it really doesn't matter if you're drinking the wrong kind of beer, haven't peed on your hands, spit on your minnow, forgot your favorite lure, had to bring the wife, run over a cat, etc.
