But I can tell you it was this cold fog that made for all the frost on that critter

I found a Barred Owl like that in Itasca County last December. Like it was just pinned in a tree. I could not figure out why it was hanging in a tree dead and sort of tangled. I can't find my photos of it right now. It was in a very popular grouse hunting spot....I hope it wasn't shot and thrown. I don't think so, but I honestly couldn't come up with another explanation.

cool capture! maybe a hawk stuck it there and forgot where lunch was. who knows
