What Electronic predator game call to get

Recommended Posts

Do I need to spend big bucks for the Foxbro's or can I get by with a cheap Johnny Stewart $40 call. I never coyote hunted before so I'm pretty clueless on this. Just looking at getting started in yote hunting. Looking for any advice. Thanks

Sorry, it has been a hectic week at the house, getting rid of one family to gear up and get ready for the next wave:

To answer your question, no you don't need an electronic caller, now if you have your heart set on one there are a lot of ways to go. You can buoldnyour own with an iPod/horn speaker/and a remote device, which I did and hated ( not recommended), Johnny stewart makes some good models at reasonable prices, western rivers makes a model that is complete junk in the cold, so much so that cabelas stopped accepting returns o. Them after 30 days. There are also the bigger money set ups like fox pro, burham bros. and the maker I went with Minaska. Now minaska was bought out by MADD calls so I am not even sure if their units are still made. My buddy has a fox pro and it is a solid unit, he liked my Minaska because of it's small size and long range.

Foxpros can be bought on Evilbay and once in a while they have reconditioned units on their HSOforum. If you are going to actively chase critters, and want to get an electronic caller, more money spent is beter. Expect to spend3-500 buckson a unit.

If you arenjust starting out, go with a couple hand calls, a weeks dying rabbit does great, maybe a squeaker cll, but I usually just lip kiss on the bcd of my hand. Get a couple of call of the wild coyote hunting DVDs and see what he does. You don't need electronic calls to hunt coyotes. I have called in yokes with my e caller and by hand as well

Thanks for the feedback guys. I was looking at the Foxbro spitfire for 200$. I think I might get this one. Buy some white camo. I should be set. I've seen a few coyotes around my area. I'll let you know how I do. Thanks again.

Just spent the money and got the Fox Pro Fury. Love the unit so far, called in a Fox that out smarted me last night. Going to hit it hard tomorrow. Love the use unit, it is solid, and the remote works great. Hard to spend the money, but feel it was worth it. Good luck.
