Looking to get a couple new ice rigs for walleye's. what type of line do you guys suggest? for the most part i fish crappies and sunnies in the winter and use fireline miro ice, or what ever its called. I love the fire line, but an concerned about clear water fishing for walters. What do ya suggest?

Flouro carbon has some advantages and disadvantages.

One disadvantage is that the line absorbs water. If you have this on a set line with a bobber it will eventually get heavy and sink your bobber. It is ultra clear though and the ultimate when the fish might be lineshy.

Most of my jigging rods have 4 or 6 lb P-Line. I just spooled up a couple rods with the new iceline from Lindy. It went on the reel very smoothly and I am eager to try it out. I think it will handle cold weather extremely well.

I have 3 rods rigged up with the power pro. 15 lb w/ a 2 lb dia. I think is the ratio. It works great with a swivel and a chunk of 4# micro ice the length of the rod just so the swivel doesn't get reeled into the eyes when storing. Seems to work great for the sauger and eyes I catch 20" and under!

I have 3 different types of line in use right now. I use either PP Ice or Fireline crystal on my jigging rods, with a 6 lb Vanish leader tied to a high quality swivel. My deadstick has 5lb test Lindy Ice line.
