I'm going to their show on Dec. 26th in Milwaukee. Seen them last year for the 1st time, I will see them every year from here on out. Unbelievable, the show is just jaw dropping. I got a personal performance from the blonde vixen violin player, got on her knee and did a chord for me, that was worth the money in itself. I've been listening to their xmas music for the past 2months to get into the flow of things.

I went about 5 years ago and it was an incredible performance.

Several years ago I ordered a CD through BMG and they mistakingly sent me "Handful of Rain" by Savatage. I never knew the connection of Savatage and TSO until a co-worker tipped me off.

If any of you have never heard any of the Savatage work and like an underground metal sound or what you could maybe call a rock opera type of music, check them out. There's been a few changes of members over the years since one of the Oliva brothers has died and I'm not sure if John Oliva is still performing.

Anything from the Oliva era of Savatage is great. A couple songs of interest might be:

Savatage is some serious chord metal for sure... so this Al Pitrelli guy is going to be with TSO I take it?

TSO runs shows simultaneously in different cities. There's several members to TSO. Pitrelli was at the show I attended. I think Pitrelli is the one who started TSO but I might be wrong.

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra (often abbreviated to TSO) is a rock orchestra founded in 1993 by producer, composer, and lyricist Paul O'Neill, who brought together Jon Oliva and Al Pitrelli (both members of Savatage) and keyboardist and co-producer Robert Kinkel to form the core of the creative team.

Thanks for clarifying that GB. I wasn't sure but thought Pitrelli had a hand in beginning of TSO somehow.
