Hookmaster
Where do I go to buy a trailer hitch for pulling a portable fish house? Any local places in the west metro of Mpls? Any online places? I am new to snowmobiling so any help is appreciated.
1900_LE
I built my own. Pretty simple with a heavy duty hinge and either a couple bolts or a couple U-bolts.

1900_LE
[/url) First one is on my sled. Second is one I just made for wife's sled. It's a heavy duty hinge that I picked up at a farm and ranch store. There were no holes in it. I didn't like the way The second one turned out but all I had to cut it with is a 4" grinder with a cutting wheel. I did have to weld another inch or so on it so the U-bolts would fit. It works and that's what I care about.
mamohr686
You can buy universal hitches from dennis kirk on the web. I would check with a dealership who carries your type of sled for the best results and safety. For example my skidoo rev comes with a super lightweight bumper. If I pulled anything with it, it would bend. I bought a heavy duty bumper and pin style hitch for about $100. It bolts directly to my frame, and I can haul lumber with it if I wanted to. caughtacase73
I purchased one for my 95 Ski Doo from Dennis Kirk. It came with a "heavy duty" bumper that looked just like the one on my sled(so if anyone needs a 95 formula rear bumer I have an extra). The advantage to the manufactered hitches is that they mount to the bumper and attach to the top of the tunnel (have to remove the seat to install). I think this provides extra support over just the bumper style. I don't think I paid much more than $40 bucks shipped. I think there is a place in Big Lake that sells the same type of snowmobile / atv stuff so you could check there and not have to wait for it to be shipped. Hookmaster
I picked up a used one in Victoria. Putting it on tonight and heading to LOW Friday morning with the new insulated Canvas Craft double flip bought at the Ice Show.
