I use the Fish Easy. Works good for me. I have the fist model they came out with, but have used the new model, the fish easy II. pretty good unit for the buck, I paid 150 for mine new at Cabela's, don't know what the FE II's are going for. You know, come to think about it, a couple of weeks ago I was in the bargin cave at Owatanna and saw some good deals on sonars and locaters.

I just bought a Fish Easy II for $130. You can get one with temp for $20 more. It's a nice unit with something like 12 gray scale levels. The GM in Woodbury had last years model on sale for $120 last week.

I'm the Marine department manager at Cabela's in Owatonna. There are lots to choose from for locators these days but I think the best bang for the buck is the Eagle Fish Mark 320 or for $30.00 more you can get the Fish Mark 480. We sell the 320 for $169.99 and the 480 for $199.99. They can be purchased as the unit alone or in a portable set up with rechargeable battery, charger, suction cup mount and a shuttle for $239.99 or $249.99 respectivly. Every manufacturer makes units that are leaps and bounds better than what they were five years ago but I believe that Lowrance and Eagle are leading the way.

Got the hall pass to buy the new unit. Eagle circa 1985 gave out last fall. Need something portable, and I fish from a small, slow boat. The Humminbird Piranhas look good, though cheap. What's the best bang-for-buck that will read weeds and do all the rest? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My vote is for the Eagle Fishmark 320. I purchased one last fall and it has met all my expectations...I wish I would have waited until this year to pickup the Fishmark 480.

I love my Garmin 240. But I've never owned any other "quality" brand of finders so my experiences are few, except for the 4 or 5 CHEAP ones I've owned. I like it, I've confidence in it, and I know it works. Yesterday while on the water I was demonstrating to my friend how my jig shows up on the finder's screen. A tiny jig shown as a line going up and down. If it picks up something that small you gain confidence real quick!
