ac777
Good 4 inches where I was spearing. Did measure a spot that was 3. Could only go for an hour, but it was fun to get out again, it's the earliest ive ever been out, are the lakes normally a little cloudier early on? Because last year this lake was pretty clear. Spearing Machine
It may have to due with the high winds that occurred right before and or during ice up. I know many of the lakes I spear are wide open yet by Brainerd and spearing may be poor for a while until the sediments settles out but only time will tell. Congrats on the first outing! Jameson
I'm jealous. I'm gonna try and stay off of the lakes till after muzzleloader season. Hopefully I can get my tag filled and get on the lakes soon.
shamalex72
I got out this afternoon for about an hour. I tried the river behind our house. I had one come in about 10 minutes after getting set up, then another about a half hour later. Both were pretty small. The second one hung around for a quite a while and played with the decoys. He hit three different decoys. Hit one and leave, change, hit the new one and leave, change, come in and hit that one. At one point I had him just inches from the surface to where I could almost reach down and touch his back. Its little things like that why I like spearing so much.
