Over time it learns your writing style and will get faster and better as it figures you out.

I noticed that as well! I started manually typing some words and now swype picks them up! LOVE SWYPE better than talk to text even. Honestly can say this is the number one reason I will keep using a droid. Infact, I hope it NEVER goes away

Well, I decided on and picked up the DroidX. I know Pure you said its too big. And it is a little large. But for now I sure do like it.

So, what are some of the best apps to pick up for it? Any great weather/radar? Maybe a good work out app? Any great games to help pass the time if needed?

Congratulations and welcome to the Droid world DD! Weatherbug Elite is top of the line for weather and radar. And Angry Birds will keep you entertained for a while. Otherwise check out the HSO members smartphone apps page for a ton of other recommendations.

1+ weatherbug workout. Idk about workout apps, I get my workout walking through the woods so I guess Google tracks might count.

Congratulations on the new phone too, I'm sure you will be wondering how you ever lived without it soon.

Sorry I didn't see you also asked for a workout app, I use cardiotrainer and it's great for biking, running and other outdoor activities. It tracks your distance and plots out your course on a map, it works great for me. Best of all it's free!

Deitz you can pay me a dollar a month and I will send you a text calling you fat and that you should be working out instead of playing COD. does that qualify as a smart phone app?

LMAO, how much for a weekly rate LOL. Thats awesome!

Deitz -

Use Radar Now for radar, it's free and uses the NWS radar for whatever location you want.

I have the NWS HSOforum saved as a bookmark, and then a shortcut to that bookmark on my homescreen.

You can set up a bookmark to HSO on the homescreen as well, that way you just touch the screen and you go to the HSOforum.

I have weatherbug elite, but if you're not going to use the auto update to somewhat save battery life, then it's not really worth the $2, since you can just access the NWS site for free.

The top audio apps would be Pandora (online music) and Tune-In Radio (local radio stations that AREN'T ClearChannel).

ClearChannel has their own app, but you have to go to iheartradio.com to get it, and it's not very stable, meaning cuts out ALOT.

Just like anything new keep playing with it and exploring the menus and such to get comfortable with it. Set up your email accounts, get your contacts in order, and play with the different apps that are included. It'll be old hat before you know it.

Landscaper, go to Messaging, menu, messaging settings, email, notification, and make sure notification status bar is checked

Nothing will pop up when you open up the phone, but it will show in the status bar at the top.

On my Droid 2

On the home screen i add a clock (i think one that came standard on the phone but cant find it now the one where you can choose the color like lime green, yellow, purple)

But the clock doesnt always update like it will be 730 pm and the clock will say 534 or something why is that??

If it is like mine, when you are on a different page (other than your home page) the clock in the status bar will always stay current. But when you swipe back to the home page (with the clock) that will show a past time and will update once you stay on the home page for a few seconds.

Yah skip those clocks. go with the status bar one. IF you want one for night time or when your not using your phone sitting at work go to the app market and find a mock dock app.. it tricks your phone into being into a docking station and displays the clock. Or you can make your own with magnets. Look at youtube for that.
