Hanging a bear rug on the wall

Recommended Posts

TKM,

When I got my rug back, there were little rings sewed on near each foot, and one near the chin. That being the case, I can hang it with the head facing left or right (my walls aren't high enough to hang it head up or head down). All it takes is a few properly placed nails or screws to hang it. I'm guessing the rug weighs 20-25 pounds.

PS It takes 3 nails to hold it up properly, two foot rings and the chin.

Yes the head especially is fairly heavy you will need to find the studs for that. One thing I can garantee from experience is no matter how well you anchor it to the wall is it wont turn out good if you leave an eight month old lab in there with it overnight. mad

If it has rings on it find a stud for the head to hang on and after the rest of the rug is hung up take 4 finish nails and catch 1/2'' of the edge of the hide every 2 to three feet and leave enough of the head to pull the nails if required sometime down the road if it needs to be taken down.
