tipup
What a great morning to be out in the field with my dog!!! The frost was thick and there was no wind. Had my first piont and rooster by 5 after 9!!! Saw 6 more hens and a second rooster that got up behind a tree and couldnt get a shot at! Still what a very nice day!!! Anyone else get out this am??? Matt Breuer
Not in pheasant country, but last night was the same. Dead calm in the northwoods and the hunting was fantastic! I hadn't been out in 10 days so it was just nice to get out on a beautiful day, and the birds bagged were a bonus. Today after trick-or-treating I'm taking my son and the birthday boy (my 9 y/o GSP) on a quick eve. hunt. Hopefully this weather stays for a couple of days! R. Miller
Yes the frost and dead calm was awesome. Gotta love this time of year but can't believe October is already over.

Snag
It was a great morning to be outside. Most of the public land has been worked over pretty good. I'm finding less birds each time out. We have been getting up one bird for every 1/2 hour walked, but haven't been way out west yet.

CRAZYEYES
Dead calm this afternoon too. Jumped 4 roosters and got my 2. It was calm enough that 3 out of the 4 I heard run before they jumped. I did put both of them down in water that was just over the boots and there is now a tiny skim of ice in the water filled grass.
