Waxing your bowstring

Just a warning note. If you haven't waxed it in some time, doing so now MAY change your arrows point of impact. (hard lesson learned for me) That being said, I now wax mine frequently.

I wax mine often during the season and a few time throughout the year.

Here is a tip for you...once you apply the wax try using a hair drier to melt it into the string. It helps keep the inner weave as moist as the outer. Just be care full not to hold heat in one spot to long.

Maybe you already new that one.

Oh really? mine needs to be waxed and I haven't done it in 1+ year. Did you just have to re-sight in and adjust your pins?

When I waxed mine after it needed it for a while, seems I shot high. Yes, needed to resite. There was some discussion on here about that at the time and others said they've had the same problem.

One friend of mine who makes custom bowstrings told me to NEVER wax them, that with the new products available now it realy isn't necessary. That being said, I do wax mine frequently now.
