Tour. Pro 175
Has anyone noticed the number of post on the Ice Fishing Main Forum lately? I'm amazed! Where is everybody during the open water season? Maybe we are all to busy fishing. Dreaming of ice free lakes,Paul

Mark Christianson
Good catch Tour Pro. Maybe these guys are all out on the ice with laptops and modems hooked up to cell phones waiting for the next bite.Lots more time on your hands when waitin in the shack for the next bite. I know when I am on the open water, there's no idle time for posting on FM.
CrappieJohn
Tour pro...You fish the waldos, so does Guido. Now instead of dreaming about fishing next year, grab the boat and drive down to RedWing and enjoy some serious winter fishing. I tend to agree with what all three of you are alluding to...the summer gone and fishing while looking thru a whole in the ice just not cutting it... but this is a winter fishery that offers up some real challenges. If you have access to a smaller boat, give it a whirl. This is the hottest time of the year to tease those fish with plastic and as I have found out they hate being teased.------------------Sure life happens- why wait....The Crapster....good fishing guys![email protected]
Tour. Pro 175
Crappie Tom,Sounds tempting, your right about challenging, nothing like fishing when the air temps hovering at 15 degrees. Kinda reminds me of a night trip to Mille Lacs first part of Nov. a few years back. Rod guides froze, bail full of ice, boat full of ice, access froze up. We caught fish and had a great time. Next warm spell might just find me down there.Good Fishing,Paul
CrappieJohn
Tour...Wait until the air is about 25-28 degrees and the ice should not be a problem in the guides. The super braids like to freeze on the spool some , but hey you are not casting. Right now with the low flow rate the fish are fairly easy to find. If you have the need for more info, toss me an e-mail. ------------------Sure life happens- why wait....The Crapster....good fishing guys![email protected]

DARK30
I think I'll be "participating" in the annual early bumper boat fiesta this next year around Red Wing. I will admit I'm a bit of a pup when it comes to freezing my fingers and such! I have a guide in mind and it sounds like fish are pretty much a sure thing....We'll see. WET NETS! ------------------cast,cast,cast,cast......
