Live Frogs??

Ok, I have 10 billion frogs jumping around my yard and I was wondering if they would work good to use them fishing for walleyes right now??

I would be going out closer to dark. What is a good way to use them, or am I better off using some type of minnow.

I really need help putting some walleyes in the boat after dark. I am open to any suggestions.

Use them! stick to the shallows. Frogs work wonders. Go look to openwater...fall fishing.. to see what they are capable of bringing in this time of year.

Where do you live if you don't mind me asking? Watch where frogs are entering the lake and use a floating original rapala or any floating and shallow running crankbait or a mr. twister/jig combo.

I live by the south fork of the crow river.

What is the best way to hook them? What size hook? and do I fish them under a bobber, drag them or what?

I hook my frogs through the mouth. You can fish them however you want. Depends what species you are targeting. Ive used bottom rigs, Ive used bobbers too.

Frogs are an excellant bait. In fact I airbrush both spoons and plugs for people. Here is a #5 Shadrap I just finished over the weekend for somebody in the Brainerd area.

The "Kermit Rap"....now if I can only get some made similar to that in #5 and #6 Salmo Hornets. The Salmo Beatle Pattern is a good frog imitation for night use too. Some trout patterns do well too. I do well with the Black and Gold Salmo Hornets at night in clear water and lightly stained water during the frog migration.

It's tough to beat Kermit on a jig for a pig.

I'm on my way out to do the night shift now in fact...with a few Kirmits...and a box of Go-2 Cranks and jigs.
