sighting in slug gun w/ scope

Recommended Posts

I should remember this but seem to forget every year. I have an 1187 with a rifled barel and a Cabela's (pine ridge) red dot scope. When I sight it in and it shoots left...Does that mean I adjust to the left on the dial or to the right. My intuition tells me to adjust to the right, but for some reason I think you turn the adjustment to the same direction your off. I'm assuming the same holds for up vs. down. thanks.

Thanks for the help, it seems we have conflicting ideas. The problem is that I can talk myself into either side sounding correct. If only rifled slugs were much cheaper it wouldn't matter much. Is there anyone who is certain if I turn the adjustment where I want the slug to go on the target or to the same direction it is off the mark? Thanks again.

set the gun on a rest and move your crosshairs while watching through the scope, easy and effective. Shoot a 3 shot group with the crosshairs on the bullseye(get a good group), set the gun up in the rest and move the crosshairs to the to the group. Re-shoot until satisfied, won't take much from there.
