2009 Alumacraft Navigator 165 with a 60 Yamaha

Anybody running this set up? I have been looking at one of these but I was wondering if it would pull a tube or a kneeboard. Seems the motor might be a little on the small size. Anybody???

It is rated for a 90hp Max. I would go with a 75hp or 90hp. I have the 175 with a 115 hp and wished I went with a 140 or 150.

Still a nice boat. If you were going to fish with it alot the 60 would work fine.

No replacement for displacement. Go for at least 80% of max hp

I bought an '08 Navigator with a 90hp Suzuki. It went mid-40s before I added trolling motor, batteries, and gear. Now it maxes out around 40mph with just me, high 30s with four people. It pulls me (200lbs) up on two water skis. I've found that I definitely need to hammer the throttle to get on plane if I've got 3-4 guys in the boat but then it cruises. I'm sure that changing the pitch on my prop would make a world of difference for that situation.

All in all, I'm very happy with the 90hp. The ONLY regret is that you can't get a nice slow troll in without stepping down to the trolling motor.
