Washing a boat

tray

Recommended Posts

It's time to put the boat away. Get ready for hunting.I read a post last year on a recipe to clean the boat with vinager. This is to help remove the dull haze that remains on the boat even after you wash with soap and water. Any tips would be a great help THANKS

When I pull my boat out of the water I take a minute to spray it down with a vinigar/water (1 part vinigar/10 parts water) and then imediatly hit it with a spray detailer. It takes about 5 minutes total if I'm slow. Keeps the boat shiny and clean.

Whats a spray detailer?

You need to go to the automotive section were all the soaps and waxs are once in a while winkgrin

I like to wash down my boat, trailer and splash guards once a year with just plain vinegar and then give it a soapy wash and clean rinse. It will take off all the hard water stains.

I've found the blue scrubbies work well for stubborn scale. NOT GREEN SCRUBBIES, blue ones. They don't scratch. I use it on the black motor. I also like magic eraser. I don't know what it's made of. I assume my fingers will fall off in 10 years. But it takes any rub marks off!. I had black boot rubs on my wheeler fender that I couldn't wash off for anything, tried that magic eraser and they were gone in seconds!

SO, blue scrubbies and magic erasers!

Magic Ereasers are one of the new modern miracles but they are spendy and they don't last very long. Use them for rub marks and other similar marks. Toilet bowl cleaner does a good job of taking the stubborn water & scum stains off the hull also.
