Flash cams and Bears?

Recommended Posts

What have any of you noticed? Do the flash(white flash not IR)trail cams bother the bears? I know there has been discussion about deer(with mixed opinions) and probably bear. When I told a coworker that I was using a flash trailcam on 1 of my bait sites he said I thought the flashes scared the bears. Any thoughts? Boar don't you have a couple of flash cameras?

Thanks,

Chris

Jerkbait, you know what, I cant say as that would they see lights all the time an would probably be more curious that anything when it happens. HOW do you know? you can only asume it does. Look at ir cameras, listen to the sounds they make when they go off, Now if I was a bear and in the dark, I would be more sceptical on what that was than a half second flash. I would like to see the documentation on how it scares bear and some kind of proof. Once again jerk, they can only assume. Hows baiting going ? ----57---

I used my flash camera all last year and it didn't seem to spook my bears, nor did they even walk up to or bother it. Although I used a different camera of a buddys on a differnt bait and that bear gave it a swat with its paw, but i don't believe that was from the flash as it was fairly early in the evening and i doubt it flashed when i took the pic.
