St. Cloud City Hunt

Who applied for the city hunt this year?? I have applied the last three without getting drawn so hopefully this will be my year. The drawing is today so my fingers are crossed...

I hunted it a couple years ago. There was like 700 people that applied. Your chances are slim even if its your second or third year applying. Plus the hunting isnt as great as you would think. Very nocturnal. Not to kill your dreams, just thought I would let ya know in case you didn't get drawn and were wondering why.

Alternate last year (didn't get in) and nothing this year, kinda odd. Guess I'll be on the public land.

Like I said, 700 hundred applied last year. That means if they all apply again this year, all 700 hundred have preference. So if you are one of them, that means your odds of getting in are still really bad. If you got drawn as an alternate last year, you were really lucky and it doesnt mean you are at the head of the pack this year. I know a guy who has applied the last 4 years in a row and still hasnt gotten picked for anything....

I saw you said 700 applied but why have it completely random every year? Let people work up to having a better chance. A guy I know passed on several deer and got a 8 point buck with little scouting, seems much easier than my alternative.
