venison swiss steak

This is from my Venison Recipes Family Tested distributed by the MDHA

Hope this is what you are looking for.

Creamy Swiss Steak

2 pounds boneless venison loin or steak

salt and pepper

4 Tbl flour

1 small onion

1 can cream of mushroom or celery soup

1/2 cup water,broth, or dry white wine

1 Tbl steak sauce

Cut meat into serving portions. Season the meat with salt and pepper and dust in flour. Heat a little oil in the skillet and brown the meat on both sides. Remove meat from skillet and brown onion a minute or so. Alternate meat and onion in the crock pot. Mix remaining ingredients and pour them over the meat. Cover and cook at low heat for 6 to 8 hours.

I use the same recipe except I add a pkg of Lipton Onion soup mix.I also dredge the meat in flour and brown it instead of adding it later.

If you are using round steak.....pound them with a meat tenderizer mallet.

You can make this if you tenderize it first in the oven at 350 for 1 hour instead of using the crockpot.
