Cleveland game

The plate ump could not call a ball or a strike to save his life.

Thome had a HR, There is no way a ball can come down in the air, hit the wall and jump back up into the air.

Very poor on all the calls tonight. The worst I have seen in any sport for a long time.

I only saw the final inning of the game, so I can't attest to how the plate ump was, but a couple of points regarding the home run....

#1. Like Harvey said, I can't understand how the ball can take that bounce hitting a padded wall...

#2. Coomer made a good point regarding replay.... if we are going to have replay we need to make sure we have better camera angles and capabilities than what we have.

If we get a half way decent start out of Frankie we don't have to worry about it...

I like how Gardy said the ump as him what he was doing coming out of the dugout. Then Gardy said thats what one would expect from a ump from Clevend. I was shocked Gardy said that.

Should be interesting to watch todays game.

I think they were watching something other than the replay. No way a ball can bounce like it did hitting the side of the wall.

Can't happen. Ump must not be much in the common sense dept.

I do not like to slam umps but in this case, they were blind.

While Bert and Ernie were going over the replays, I looked up the homerun rule. It stated that hitting the yellow wall but bouncing back into play is a fair ball. The replay showed the ball hitting essentially the top of the yellow line/pad and the fencing. If it just hit the yellow line, then the umps got it correct. If it hits the fence then it's a home run. It appeared to me that it hit both the fencing and yellow line/pad at the same time, which should mean a HR because it went over the line hitting the HR fence.

Oh well.
