Satellite dish mount

What is everyone using to attach a dish to the outside of your fish houses? Tripod? Suction cups? Mount?

I used the actual rigid mount and it works great. It isn't the prettiest thing, but it doesn't look terrible either. Its nice to have it mounted fixed so you have something to zip tie your coax cable coming from the inside of the house to.

You can kind of see it in this picture. The mount is there on the right side without the dish mounted on it.

I bolted the mount to a 6" by 8" plate just painted it black looks good i think!

I sell both dish network and directv i would strongly recommend a tripod mount as you need the pole to be level and if the house is in an ice bank or on uneven ground you may have trouble getting service.

On our last house, I had the dish mounted on a concrete block and an external plug for the cable. Worked pretty slick. Crack open a window to hear the test signal and keep moving until locked in. Could usually get signal in less than 5 minutes. Key is to know exactly where south is. How do you guys tune in your house mounted rigs? Ladder? Tailgate? Looks like a PITA.

New house has the crank up. Even slicker. No standing outside in the cold and wind. About 30 seconds to crank up and get signal. Still helps to know south but really only shaves about 5-10 seconds off signal acquisition. Think it was a $300 option. Worth every penny. Have seen the king domes in action and can't see the benefit vs the much cheaper option we went with.
