Storm Check/ Damage reports.

A lot of rain at both the house and cabin. Storm fell apart right over the cabin, I'd say the wind never exceeded 5 MPH (yes, I do mean 5 and not 50). I don't even worry about the house anymore, storms never hit it. I've lost more trees because they fell over for no good reason (1 tree that destroyed another tree) than I have to wind/hail/lightning/tornados/ice (roughly 30% of one tree).

The kids and I were at the cabin on Rice Lake in Eden Valley. The second storm came up quick as the storm came from behind a tree line while we were out on the lake. Started to see some lightning strikes so packed it in. And as I pulled the last anchor saw a flash then a crack and then boom. A huge bolt under a mile away. High tailed it to the cabin and was able to get the kids in and to the basement. Had 2" of rain in ~ 20 minutes. Luckily avoided damage (unfortunately, it would've been nice to take a few trees to the cabin.)

I was at Abramsons just out of Scandia the morning after. They had a couple of really big trees go down at the way back of their property.. but even worse, all their pots.. and I mean ALL, got tipped over. Took them 40 man hours to put them back upright.. yuck!

In Centerville, all of the dead branches, and a few live ones, were torn off the cottonwood behind my house and smacked the back of my house. Thankfully there was no damage. From the sounds of it, I thought it was going to be much worse.
