10,000 Casts
It's official according to the Fan, Boogy signed a 4 yr $6.6 million dollar contract with the NY Rangers.. It's a sad day for this Wild fan.. But then again, when you don't have any superstars to protect, why would we need an enforcer?
OnAFly
It's for the best. That money is better spent elsewhere. What do you need an enforcer for? Who was Chicago's enforcer? How many superstars did they have? The way the game is now, they are a dying breed. They rack up penalty minutes and cost money while scoring few points. genegodawa
Gonna agree with you Onafly about the change in SKILL reqs ....can't even recall the Oiler enforcer on that great skilled team.Oh yeah, McSorley. The role players are important in any TEAM sport.(see Baseball thread: Why is Punto still in the majors). There is winning, and then there is the purist vision of the sport. But I gotta say, when they ain't winning, the goonie/ugliness keeps me interested...but it don't get me to buy tickets! OnAFly
How many Boogaard shirts/jerseys did the Rangers just sell? He can put people in the seats. Not everyone understands hockey, but everyone understands two guys whaling on each other. And, it's always fun when your guy wins!
Swimbait2009
When's the last goal that Boogey scored? Right. How many times was he in the sin bin when we gave up a PP goal? Right. That said, I also enjoyed watching him line someone up from across ice. It was a good salary to get off the books, and we can replace him for much less. Bear55
Boogy hasn't scored since the 05-06 season, for that kind of money they can have him.
