Question

The Grebe

Question

This may not be the right place to post, but I figured it would get the most views in this spot....here's the question....have any of you ever picked up a larger type of animal in the headlight beam crossing the road at night, whose eyes glowed red? If so, what is it?

May or may not be related to your experience, but I was driving north towards Green Isle had an animal already in the road turn to look at me with orange glowing eyes. Turned out to be a Red Fox. Mangy little critter too. Didn't look too healthy. He was in the same spot on the return trip 15 minutes later.

I've heard of that thing, and the Yeti and stuff like that, but really, is there an animal in Minnesota about medium dog size, whose eyes glow red in the headlights? A wolf maybe? How about a bear?

It never looked at the car so I couldn't see a reflection but I saw what looked to be a coyote crossing I-94 Saturday night. I know there are quite a few of those around. The wolf population is also small but on the rise, another possibility. Foxes have red eyes and I believe coyotes are more of an orange. So that color seems to fit the canine family.

I saw a bobcat walking the ditch up by Rutlage this weekend, I dont know what color their eye's glow but I was quite amazed. Are'nt bobcats pretty rare in minnesota? It was cool, I just drove slow and it just kept walking. I love Minnesota.
