It was a real nice surprise, since I have been wanting to see one for the last 20 years... laugh

I know the picture sucks, but I didn't have any time to try and get a better one.

Nice find Jason! I see about one a year and I still have no images of one! They are a very skittish bird. From what I have read, the farther north you go the rarer they are.

Cool - I saw a western spotted towhee last year in New Mexico, but was never able to get any images -- they ran around in the underbrush just out of range! Very neat to catch one up in your area and to get an image of any kind!!!

Ahhh, you almost had him on the extension cord perch! Better luck next time sir. No seriously, very cool, they are a difficult species to turn up in north eastern Minnesota.
