Catfish around Maple Grove area

Gonna be in maple grove and hoping to take the GF out and fish for some cats, what are some areas to go to around maple grove. Are there good parks along the mississippi along the 94 stretch?

pretty sure people fish for them at the coon rapids dam, but i never have.

you'd prolly have to venture into the wilds of Champlin, Anoka and Dayton, upto perhaps as far as wild and wolly Otsego! *grin* (just friday loopiness!)

the Mississippi is a good bet- there are alot of good shore spots to be found! Generally FM

I've never been around there, but I know both the Mississippi and the Crow have channel cats up that way. They probably are slightly larger in the 'sippi than the Crow, but I know you can get fish out of both.
