Sturgeon cams

I was watching the Sturgeon cam's and went to look at a video on tagging operations for sturgeon. Interesting but I thought the handling of the Sturgeon was not as gentle as one might wish, see what you think? A longer skid release ramp maybe?

I hope you meant gentle. haha. I think they could have used a longer ramp to release them or at least have some mud instead of rocks where they entered the water.

What do you guys think of this guy caught on 8 lb braided line by my aunt on lake of the woods on a walleye jig and frozen shiner this 4th weekend??

Great fish but be careful how you hold them. They are gentle giants and need more of a cradle type hold.

Well keep in mind these are people who know nothing of sturgeon and were very frightened of even initially bringing the thing in the boat, It was my uncle, aunt and sister taking the pic in a 15 foot lund going for walleye...I would know better since I live up here on LOTW.....I did tell him that it wouldnt have been too frantic once outta the water.
