Walleye shore fishing tactics

I am likely going to be hitting some shore line early morning on opener. Anybody have any suggestions for tatics or presentations and any spots in the south metro I should try? Thanks.

im no walleye expert but what i do is first off look for a river to fish rather than a lake from shore, its just easier to reach any holes on a 40yard wide river than it is a mile wide lake. an easy rig i have had alot of luck with is a floating jig tiped with a leech or shiner(or any 2-4 inch minnow) tie the jig to about a foot of mono then attach it to your main line with a small swivle and above the swivle i put a 1/4 - 1/2 egg sinker. this allows the line to flow without any weight if an eye does hit.

I know this works for me up here on the miss.

Everything that he said. But I never thought about the river part. Good tip thanks

I don't have a secret spot for you but a river is a great spot to start. I grew up on the MN river and caught all kinds of critters. My best rig was the old river rig, aka lindy rig or roach rig with a float to keep it off the bottom You can let it sit or reel it in slowly. Good luck.
