zepman
My bet on QB is that if they don't take McCoy or Tebow in the 1st they will pick up SKELTON in the 3rd or 4th.
JigsawedEyes
Tebow does remind me of Steve Young though, both lefties and can run. If Pouncey is gone maybe they can trade down and get 2nd and 3rd round picks for it and get Tebow, Best and a offensive lineman. Whoever Spielman and Childress likes will be what we get and they have done there homework on most of the guys.
frogtosser
who cares, the draft is boring and over hyped. snore
LMITOUT
Next year will be better since the Vikings will have already made their pick by now.
Rippinlip
4 more picks to go (we are on 14 now) and I think that means Clausen will make it to 30th, if he is there, it better be him or its a bad decision on our part.I think if Clausen can make it throught the 17th pick he will slide fast.We have seen T-Jack for a while and still in growiong painsd, Sage is not a starter and been in the league for how long,,,,,problemKlausen or another wasted draft..... Coach1310
24 picks in the books..... and Clausen is still on the board ????? As much as I want them to go for NEED, I find it hard to say No thanks... I hope it happens and turns into a Aaron Rodgers??? Looks like Tebow to Denver...??? JigsawedEyes
Lol Denver got another Qb Mr Tebow. The thing with Clausen is he didnt win alot of games but had good numbers. If they dont take Clausen I hope they go tackle or maybe Best at RB and get a Qb later like Mccoy or Pike. Also Id like to see em get Decker I spose in the 3rd or 4th round. LMITOUT
So Denver traded Cutler and Marshall for Tebow and Thomas.....hmmmm.
Scott K
Looks like we gained a pick, and can still get Clausen in the second. Great move by the Vikes!
BRULEDRIFTER
Actually, I think we got 2 more picks. ??????
LMITOUT
Where did they gain a pick? From what I see they dropped down to 34, and then swapped picks in the fourth with the Lions. No gain, just moved up in the fourth.
Scott K
Actually, I think we got 2 more picks. ?????? You may be right, I didnt see what we got. But we should get Clausen with the second pick.
BRULEDRIFTER
We got a 4th and a 6th, I believe????
LMITOUT
Not that I see.It looks like all the Vikings did was improve their position in the fourth round.edit: The only extra pick they got is one in the 7th round. yippee....
goblueM
2nd, 4th and a 7th for the 1st and a 4th i thinkperhaps a good move for both teams? great draft by the lions so far
BRULEDRIFTER
My bad, it was the 7th."The Vikings have traded their 1st round pick – #30 overall – to the Detroit Lions in exchange for the Lions 2nd round pick – 34th overall – as well as their 4th round pick (#100 overall) and 7th round pick (#214)."- from vikings dot com
LMITOUT
They didn't gain an extra pick in the 4th. They just swapped with the Lions.
BRULEDRIFTER
The way I read it, it sure looks like we gained a pick in the 4th and another in the 7th. I could be illiterate, though..... Or, the update wasn't accurate....... (sorry, guess I've grown accustomed to your constant negativity towards anything Minnesota). Update: "The Vikings have traded their 1st round pick – #30 overall – to the Detroit Lions in exchange for the Lions 2nd round pick – 34th overall – as well as their 7th round pick (#214). The two teams also swapped 4th round picks, so the Vikings have Detroit’s 4th round pick (#100 overall) and the Lions take Minnesota’s 4th round pick (#128 overall)"
Scott M
Lions are drafting well. Suh will be a load in the middle, Jahvid Best could take away some carries from Smith.
zepman
Best will be lucky to make two full years in the NFL. With the "concussion syndrome" hitting full stride...he'll be sidelined more often than not. If he can stay healthy, he's a solid pick.I wouldn't be suprised to see the Vikes trade down again and then LOAD UP on the "big heavies" on both o-line/d-line. Perfect year to gain this teams future on both sides of the ball.
soldoncass
Interesting....The way I see it is ,the Vikes top players were already off the board by #30, so they upgraded position in later rounds. Or they are hoarding draft picks, for a future trade...Chili did that before. My guess is, they will make 2 defensive picks tomorrow, to shore up LB and S. Then later rounds will work on depth, and look for hidden talent, in any position. The only thing I don't like is us helping a divisional opponent (Detroit) . I sure won't be surprised with a trade for a veteran, with a couple draft pics though. If they take Claussen with #34....it would be a waste of a pick....and wouldn't help out any needs. We may take a QB with a 4th rounder though. Stay tuned.....tomorrow.
muskymaniac4ever
like the trade downs, heck the patriots seem like they traded down every year, and for best he is a good player, only thing stopping him is its the Detroit Lions, he has to run against the vikes defense good luck, wish one of them tackles would have fell to the vikes, like the packers pick, Bulaga
klecker
Good luck running against the lions d line next year. Get through that and well see ya!!!!!!!!!!!! Its great to hear all this talk about Best and his head problems. How many players have had that and never another. How many have blowen a knee and never did it again. One injury and he is doomed. I hope MN regreats that trade.Didnt AP have injury concerns coming out of college? Thanks Mn for the added talent. Detroit now has a two headed attack at RB once Smith comes back. It could be the best in the north if they can get a o line.
Fish Head
We moved down 4 spots with our 1st pick, we swapped 4th round picks and gained a 7th round pick.Hmmmm... I don't mind trading down, but we didn't get a lot in return. The only additional pick is a 7th rounder (who cares). By doing this, we also helped out a division foe. If the Vikings plan is to take Clausen, they better hope cleveland, Oakland, or KC aren't talking to St Louis right now. Than they will have lost their guy for a lousy 7th rounder and a swapping of 4th rounders.
