bucketmouth64
What do you use to clean aluminum hull? I've tried various stuff and haven't been happy with outcome. Still see waterline and scum. I have Zing and it turned the hull white. Yes, I know this stuff has a lot of acid. Luckily, I only did a small section on the back of the boat. Anyone else try this stuff. CRAZYEYES
I was scared too try some of the acidic stuff for just that reason. I left my boat in the water for a lot of last summer and it got the scum coat pretty good. I've tried a few different car wash type aplications with limited success. If anyone else has any ideas I'm open to them because I'd like to get it off without wrecking the paint.
Pat K
When I had aluminum boats I used Ducky toilet bowl cleaner. They were painted aluminum and that may make a difference, but it worked well for me.
overdalimit
This won't be easy but it WILL work. 3M super duty rubbing compound and a polisher (7 inch synthetic pad on a variable speed polisher like a body shop would use for polishing paint). Your little aluminum boat will look like chrome when you are finished!
trolloni
how about trying some stuff called trailor brite, truckers use it on their expensive aluminum trailers its potent you can cut it for the level of cleaning thats needed 22 bucks a gallon my trucker bud told me about it ,made my 88 lund rebel s hull look like new! truck repair places have it . jeffreyd
if you have a truck stop close by go ask the polishers that are there. They might cut you a deal to clean the boat, we use to use a mixture of gasoline and the 3m stuff to clean diamond plate on the fire trucks, not recommended tho
CRAZYEYES
I dont know about mixing "3m stuff" and gasoline. Sounds like something that could burn the fingerprints off your hands.
