The "where" part of this somewhat based on where you're at and pre-determined plans, but completely throw the book on the "what" component out the window.

This Spring's advanced water temps and water levels put all common sense, prior experiences, and logic on the shelf regarding traditional opener tactics. Most lakes and rivers are a good 2-3 weeks ahead of schedule, and as far as I know, fish don't carry Franklin planners or have Outlook calendars....

Go with the "where" but leave the "what" part 'til your boat is in the water and you can react to water temps, weather (current conditions and past/forecasted), weed growth, baitfish on the graph, etc. We just took it on the chin on a trip because we were too calendar focused rather than condition focused.

Good luck to all....

I will be in the north metro probably won't decide until the week before I will be throwing. Bucktails, custom DCG, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, and a little topwater maybe so pretty much a little of everything.

Lake X for sure... probably will throw out the first lure at 12:01AM...

I'm gonna be physically beat after that day for sure... Probably wont be sleeping for 24+ hours!!!

It'll be one of those: Pink/Pink Double Cowgirl, Double Showgirl or a Gold Sucker Pro Dawg...
