Forestville State Park

I plan on heading down to Forestville State Park at the end of this week and I am wondering how busy the campsites get during trout opener. Am I going to be able to get a campsite if I show up Friday morning?

i'd just wish that we'd get SOME rain before opening weekend.. everything is either going way south of most streams.. or its just completely missing the area

One thing I figured out fishing in the rain is that Crooked muddies up quickly. Like within an hour of good rain it is chocolate milk. Hence I don't think it is the best stream in the area however I'll always love it. Have you thought about south fork above the lake? I hear that lake/reservoir has some whoppers. Previous co-worker had an uncle who fished a lake and caught some tubs. Well look at a map there are not any "lakes" but this one.

If your use to county 5 coming from the North...just take 12 out of Spring Valley.

The trout did cooperate on Friday and Saturday. Caught a lot of browns, nothing huge but plenty of action. I enjoyed Forestville State Park and plan on coming back.
