coombia21
I am looking at getting a 16ft tiller and want to know the difference between a 2001 crestliner fishhawk 1650 and a 2005 lund explorer 1600. Both have a merc 50 4 stroke. What is the comparable alumacraft? Who runs a g3 boat and how do you like it?What boat would you prefer and why, which one has better options, speed on both pros and cons of each. Thanks dan
blakeb
Alumacrafts option is the Navigator, better value boat than the other two, IMO, i shoped em all. (new)
FM_Mike
I have a 2001 Crestliner 1650 sc with a 50hp 4 stroke. Great for trolling and handles big water ok. The 50hp will run with 2 people about 30 mph. Troll all day and again no issues. My next boat will definatly be a Creastliner. Mike
eelpout50
I run a crestliner and like it alot. Your looking a quality boats, all will do well, decide which layout you like and go with it. I went with a crestliner because the front deck is much larger than a lund or alumacraft and i do alot of casting, also no leaky rivets. Musky_Madness
I too run in a Crestliner with no complaints. Storage is great and have a in floor rod locker that I love! Ride is great and handles big water well. Floorplan is easy to maneuver in with 2 people or up to 4 all fishing comfortably. I'm in a 1850 Fishhawk so a little longer than the 1650 but style wise, a great boat! I first fished out of this boat with a guide on Mille Lacs and was surprised he wasn't in a Ranger or something similar and the guide said he'd take a Crestliner over any of those after owning most prior. Only thing that worries me is where are they going now after shutting down the Little Falls plant.
huntercj
I got a 2000 16'5 G3 tiller with a 60 horse yamha on it no complaints. I use mine on lake of the woods in some fairly rough water and it handles it real well. I think there a great boat for the money.

Northlander
Th 2005 Explorer and its hull will handle better and be a bit dryer ride for a tiller than a 01 Chrestliner.
