noisy dishwasher

My daughter bought a lower end Whirlpool dishwasher recently and it has an extremely thing blanket over the top and sides to deaden noise. Could I put some other material over it to try and dampen it a bit? Suggestions on what material/where to get it?

you might just take a piece of insulatoin and lay over it. i have a bosch (hate it but quiet) and the blanket is not real thick either. if you have the space top, sides, and rear might insulate the area where it slides in to help with the damping of the noise.

You could try the sound deadening material used in vehicles. Might be spendy. One brand is called Dynamat.

Thanks for the info. The kid got impatient and finished the job by screwing the thing in about 10 different ways. She's in a hurry now she can live with the noice forever.
