food plots

No sooner than Mid May for me. Thats in Ottertail County.

Thats mainly corn and soybeans for me in spring. I do some clovers too.

Then last weekend in August I plant my brassicas and winter rye.

Easiest gauge to determine if its time to plant is to watch the farmers in your area. (Granted if you are in an Ag part of the state of course)

Is there still frost??? I dont think I would consider this ideal frost seeding time with the present conditions.

I prefer to work up a plot, cultipack it, broadcast my clovers, then cultipack it again.

Frost seeding has been minimally successful for me.

around here in the valley the frost hasn't come out yet. It might be dry on top but with the rain coming in I would do it now because the frost has not come out of the ground yet. This rain will draw the frost out of the ground and will work good. We were up north last week and the frost was only 4-6" down.
