I would like some input if anyone has any I am going to be buying one and I fell in love with the 16 bull barrels and figured someone might have some info.

I like the Rock Rivers and the extras they come with from the factory in the triggers,it comes in the .223 wylde chamber wich will shoot .223 rem and 5.56 nato the say is a match chamber and how they guarantee that it will shoot a 100 yard 3/4 MOA out of the box however they are hard to find and the only place I have found is online actions.

Dpms on the other hand are everywhere made in minnesota but do not come with match triggers and the only info I found was they will not guarantee a group size the say they get anywhere from a 1/8 to a 1-1/2 Moa out of theirs.

Also anyone have a 16 inch bull barrel all my bolt bull barrels are 24 inch or longer just wondering if I should look to the 18 20 or 24 if the 16 will not perform I like shooting longer ranges and this will be for predator and target my other bull barrels are ruger mark II in the 6mm wich I shoot out to 500 yards and have shot 6 shot groups at a 100 that you could hardley tell thier was more than one hole I would like the AR to be able to shoot nice groups out to 300 yards.

Have you considered a Olympic Arms AR-15? A buddy and I have the K8 model with a 20" bull barrel, and it will shoot less than 1/2 groups with Hornady 55 gr. vmax factory loads and a little tighter with a couple different hand loads. Olympic makes their own barrels and most of the parts as well. Their trigger is not good but I bought mine from Mike Milli in the Bemiji area. If you go to AR-15 sites, he is known as Dtech, his business is called Dedicated Technologies and he can do a 15 dollar trigger job on your rifle and it is a great choice. I have heard that the 16" barrel's are loud, but my 20" is no whisper either.

Back in the late 80's/early 90's Olympic got a really bad rap for some of their parts, that has been fixed and some people won't let that one die (like the ford vs. chevy deal)

I would take a serious look at Olympic arms and their offerings, they are a very good gun for the money (my K8 was 749 a couple of years ago)

I have a DPMS 16" bull barrel, I bought some ultramax ammo to break it in and not spend a lot of money in the process, and I knew I was going to burn a lot of it up just shooting, but during the break in it shot a 5/8" group with shots 6,7,8. It hasn't lost a bit of accuracy since, and it realy likes that ultramax ammo, I can get pretty close to the same groups with just about any factory ammo though. I did have a Burris scope on it at the time, but even with open sights and a little practice I can do 2-2 1/2" groups at 100 yards. As picks said, she makes a little noise compared to the longer barrels, but you don't really notice when you are concentrating on the shot. The DPMS triggers are hit and miss, mine's not bad, my father-in-law's is horrible. I have done a little tuning on mine, (polishing the contacts, don't do it unless you know what you are doing)and my father-in-law bought a JP, its nice, I will probably get one as summer comes and I shoot it more.

I bought a RRA Predator Pursuit this winter (online) but really haven't put a lot of shells through it yet. I mounted a Nikon scope on it and it shot great right out of the box.....really good in fact. I couldn't believe how little I had to adjust the scope to put a fair grouping together. Luck I guess.

The gun itself is tight with no play between the upper and lower and the trigger is sweet. Mine came with a 20" bead blasted SS heavy barrel, ACE Skeleton buttstock, Badger tactical latch, and Hogue grips. RRA has ambi charging handles available now so I think I'm going to order one. Other than that it was pretty much set up from the get-go the way I liked it.

The larger trigger guard is nice too if you're going to shoot with winter gloves.

I ordered mine online and had it shipped to a local gun shop. Saved on taxes, but had to pay for shipping and the FFL transfer fee which was $30. They can be tricky to come by and they make them in batches, so depending on which model you're looking for you may be out of luck and will have to wait until the next batch comes around.

Neither, Google SLR15

the specs are somewhat vague on their rifles. i don't really see any features on theirs that justify the costs compared to top tier companies that offer better components for similar prices. maybe its just the descriptions on the HSOforum that are lacking...

Myself and about a half dozen buddies have DPMS guns. 16 inch bull barrel. Good scope on top. We are really into coyote hunting and travel much of the midwest and west to do it. I have seen two of my friends shoot a coyote on a dead run right in the head at 350 yards. Once might be a fluke, but they keep doing it, so it aint. These guys have been through many of the other manufacturers (Olympic, Bushmaster, etc) and find that the DPMS cycles ammo best, which is super important to us as one jam and that critter gets out of range. Like I said, accurate enough too, at least for this bunch of red necks. I took their advice and had one built. Ordered it from Deltone Gun Club in St. Cloud. Love mine.
