Any gun store, online ie. gunbroker or gunsamerica, or person holding a FFL can order one for you. Online purchase will need to be shipped to a FFL holder as well. Another option is to have a gunsmith build whatever combination you want.

Can you be more specific about which 7mm?

Shoot straight,

WG

We own several 7's. Half of them are Winchester model 70. Very good shootin guns. I was lookin to buy another one. Winchesters new ultimate shadow. Man that there is a pretty gun, if synthetics are something you're interested in!

Something to keep in mind. Until the 50 cal was built into a more traditional platform, 7mm held the world record in long distance bench fired rifles!!

savage 450-650

winchester model 70 500-? many top end models of this one, ultimate shadow is almost 800

actually, just browse for the make/model/style of gun ya want. prices dont fluctuate too much from caliber to caliber. 7MM is a magnum round, so some gun makers charge 40 bucks or more for something like a 7mm remington mag, 300 win mag, 338 mag. this isnt always true with short mag rounds, but ultra mag rifles are harder to find on a shelf, so usually more expensive.

what is your price range? does your price range include a scope? stainless? blued? walnut/rosewood stock? synthetic? knowing the above info will help us help you out a tad more

I've been shooting a custom built 7x57 Mauser for over 35 years. I have yet to find an antelope or deer that could survive one shot from it. If I was building today, it would be the 7mm08.Shorter case length and a bit more velocity, plus you don't have to hand load to get the most performance. Much less recoil than the magnums and still gets the job done.

I hope you're comparing the 7mm08 to the 7x57 in velocity. 7mm outperforms the 7mm08 handsdown

I would stick to 7mm Rem mag. Good luck finding shortmag, ultra mag,7mm-08 rounds in small town USA. I always bring mine to South Dakota when I go pheasant hunting to shoot(at a free range-unlike this darn state)and I always end up shooting up what I bring and can always go to the local store and pick up another box.

Josh:

What is your intended target species? Which 7mm caliber were you interested in, ie. 7mm Rem Mag, 7mm Remington Ultra Mag, 7mm RSAUM, 7mm-08, the list continues of course.

This is a question that must be answered before the original question can be answered.

Vister, yes, I'm comparing the 7x57 and the 7mm08. By saying just 7mm, I'm assuming you mean the 7mmRem Mag. There are many 7mm rounds, the 7x57 is one of the oldest, dating to 1893. The 7mm Rem Mag is a good one, although not the hottest 7. But I've shot deer with it and for most of them, it was too much gun. Dead is dead, and anything more is extra recoil.

yep, when i refer to 7mm, im refering to the 7mm rem mag. most people do as well. there are several different 7mm calibers, but 7mm is typically the slang word for 7mm remington mag. saying the hottest 7mm load is going to be a handloaded round vs a factory round. the hottest 7mm caliber is probably a 7mm short mag. which is different than the 7mm rem mag. you already know this, but just refreshing for those a little in the shade about it.

like my fiance', she has a 270 short mag. she doesnt tell people its a 270, she tells them its a 270 short mag
