What is your favorite St. Croix?

Recommended Posts

My favorite? Well, if I'm lindy fishing it's my 76MLF Legend Tournement, if I'm using crankbaits it's my Mojo crankbait rod, if I am bottom bounding, depending on weight I use either my Legend Tournement 7' MHM casting or 7' Legend Tournement MM spinning rod. Trolling big cranks for northerns I like my Pro Glass 6'6" casting rod.

IMO the St. Croix Legend Tournement series rules! cool

When I'm fishing male walleyes with jigs I like using the 6'6" L Elite that a built for myself a couple years ago. Second choice would be a tournament that I made at 6'9" ML x-fast. St. Croix makes a decent rod but really I would only want the blank.

My trusty ol' 6'6" Premier in ML Action.. Took eyes up to 11 lbs out in the westernmost side of the midwest.. Took hybrid stripers up to 14 lbs launching 1/2 oz lipless cranks at times on 6 lb flourocarbon on the dam faces of prairie reservoirs. And enough trout to make you sick. Next, I'll hafta get a 7' Legend M Action.. The northerns and muskies in these areas are a whole different ball game for me!

I love St. Croix rods!!

I love my 7' (extended the handle to make it 7'9") Legend Elite ML. Spinning rod.

Building a 8'6" Steelhead blank Med action, legend Elite. Going to make an awesome Mille Lacs Mud rod. Makes using those 8-10' snells a breeze.

Another sweet heart is the G. Loomis HSR 9000 either in IMX or GLX.

Haven't tried the Legend Elite rods yet, on purpose smile

I do like my Avid 6'6" Med/Fast though. It may not excel at everything, but it does a good job with all but vertical jigging where I need a little more sensitivity.

how can you tell if the walleyes are male or female before you catch them?
