mroyten
What do you guys usually do with your deer tails? I'm a musky fisherman looking to find a source for deer tails to make some bucktails for personal use. Where do you recommend I get some tails? echotrail
Go for a walk in the woods on a nice day and look for sheds. There should be twice as many tails as there are antlers becasue the does shed tails to.Then:Locate a tannary and see if you can get some from them.Road kill.Ask friends, family and neighbors to contribute next fall.Put a drop box in front of the house. (You'll collect all kinds of interesting things)

huntnfish
I bet if you posted that you wanted tails right around the time deer season opened you would have more than enough. I don't know where you could get some this time of year, though.
InTheNorthwoods
Road kill. Take a 2 hour drive in any direction in the state and you should find enough to make you happy.
lakeshoremunster
You could always buy the tails i know they are a bit spendy to buy tails. A cheap alternative is to go out with your .22 and shot some tree rats, mepps uses tree rats instead of deer tails, they both are stiff alike and if you get the fox squirrels there tails are a nicer brown/red.
